Unprepared To Make A Maid Of Honor Speech? Not Anymore With These Suggestions.

Hi, Madison here….

And so it was for me not too terribly long ago! But I overcame that gosh awful feeling with some very helpful Maid Of Honor Speech advice that was desperately needed. If you are going to be a Maid Of Honor for a special friend or maybe your sister, please keep reading…………

I devoted this entire little site to help those who are looking for advice on maid of honor speeches or maybe you want to know how to word your speech.

Based on my personal experience, my hope is this site will have all the maid of honor speech tips you need. The days leading up to and the wedding itself will be emotional enough and you don’t need this anxiety hanging over your head. So let me just provide to you some simple, easy to learn tips on how to craft your maid of honor speech.

Oh, in addition to this post, I posted plenty more speech suggestions with my special Maid Of Honor Speech Recipe and Maid Of Honor Speech Tips posts. Please check those out too!

Let me give you my top 2 tips: (whatever you do, don’t leave these 2 things out)

Make sure you include humor. Everyone loves to hear about funny moments involving the bride. The Maid Of Honor Speech should include some funny little story from when you grew up or something stupid you both did together. You could turn a story from when the bride first met the groom into a funny moment. For me, it was when our mom made some cookies for company visiting and I went out back, and between me and our dog, ate them all. But my sister took up for me and told mom she thought they were all for her.

Immediately after, say something sincere and touching about the bride. Tell a little story from the heart. A fond memory you both shared together. My sister and I are only 3 years apart. I included in my Maid Of Honor Speech a quip about how we told stories and romanticized to each other about what our wedding were going to be like. And that we made a pact to be each other’s Maid Of Honor.

To be honest, what really put this all together for me personally was reading over some really useful and neat Maid Of Honor Speech examples one of my friends emailed to me. That neat compilation not only provided many of the excellent tips I’ve mentioned on my site but I got to see some really awesome and actual written examples to go with those tips. That really eased my fears about my maid of honor speech and helped me stand up in front of all those people with confidence. Thankfully, I did not embarrass myself or my sister knowing what I knew. My sister and mom told me it was the most beautiful and sincere speech they had ever heard. I felt so relieved.

And speaking of emotions. Please, please, please don’t worry about being emotional while making your maid of honor wedding speech. It really is ok to cry while speaking. It shows real love, that you are caring, and your maid of honor speech comes from the heart with meaning. The speech will mean more to the bride. Trust me on this! It is ok….

If it helps you to relax, sip a drink of wine 15 minutes before you speak. Also another helpful hint, jot a note or 2 on your hand for important points you don’t want to miss. Don’t go crazy like Sarah Palin did on her hand and certainly don’t set up a teleprompter like President Obama but just keep important points in your mind. Reading right off a piece of paper word for word doesn’t look natural.

If you follow these tips and use those really helpful maid of honor speech examples from the same set I did, your maid of honor speech will be the hit of the wedding. I can promise you that.

Oh, if you need the link to those examples again, I think you can:

Hi! It’s Madison…..

In this post, I thought I would the most important Maid Of Honor Speech tips that you should know. I went back to consult my awesome set of resources and speech examples I used to help me create my speech from. Click Here To Check Those Out. Hope you have a few minutes to take a look. They’re pretty cool and had what I needed to plan the perfect speech. It’s actually the best advice of the whole lot I can give.

So let’s get rolling shall we? Here are a few maid of honor speech tips I pulled from the guides I used and my own personal experience.

Start by remembering that the maid of honor speech should be personal to the bride and groom. I would think you would know the bride quite well, so you should be able to think of some really neat and special stories to share about her. Maybe you want to talk about how she acted when she first started dating the groom. You may even want to look deeper in the past. I remembered when my sister used to make a wedding dress from a sheet and parade around pretending about her wedding. These types of personal memories are what makes a maid of honor wedding speech very special.

Add some humor into the maid of honor speech. You might know a story of some funny event when the bride and groom were dating. Just be careful to make sure it is not too embarrassing for the bride or groom. I sure didn’t tell everyone how my sister’s fiancé got food poisoning on their first date!

Try using some quotes to spice up your maid of honor speech toast. Whether you know of a special quote to the bride or groom or you know a quote that seems to suit the couple perfectly, adding them in can add just a little more to the speech.

If you feel you have reached a roadblock, just jot down your thoughts. Once you have your ideas for the maid of honor speech on paper, you will be able to formulate them into one cohesive speech. You do not have to start out by writing the whole maid of honor speech at once.

Finally, remember to start writing the speech early so that you have plenty of time to work on it. Don’t wait until the last minute like I did. If you give yourself some time, you will be able to walk away from the speech and then go back to it later. This will give you fresh insight and you may remember something you want to add.

Your maid of honor speech is very important, and you want it to stand out in the bride’s memories.

If you wanted to know again how to go check out the cool guide and the advice tips I used:

Click Right Here To Go Take A Look.

You couldn’t get better advice from anywhere else.

Hi, Madison here……

When it came time on the wedding day to give my big Maid Of Honor Speech, I tried to think back to all of the Maid Of Honor Speech examples I had looked at.

I had my little note card just in case and just tried to remember all of the Maid Of Honor Speech Tips and Ideas I had learned over the course of the prior week just before the wedding.

From that experience, I wanted to give you soon to be Maid and Matron’s Of Honor, my recipe for making a successful speech. Cool!! So, let’s get cooking :)

Step 1: Start with the speech preparation. Just as you would preheat the stove and lay out all of your ingredients, you need to prepare the maid of honor speech. Take your time, start early, and think carefully. Remember this next point. You do not have to write the whole speech in one sitting. You can work on it off and on for a while, and you may find that ideas come to you over time.

Step 2: Next, use a heaping cup of sincerity. The most important ingredient in any maid of honor speech is emotion and honesty. Do not be afraid to make a few people cry, and remember to make sure the words come from your heart. This is vital to creating a speech that the bride will treasure.

Step 3: Add in a dash of humor. A funny maid of honor speech is always a hit at the reception. Mix up the moments in the speech by telling a funny story from the bride’s past or an anecdote about the happy couple. Humor is a great way to break up the seriousness of the speech. Just make sure to withhold any embarrassing moments. You do not want to ruin the day by hurting the bride.

Step 4: This recipe should only bake for a short period of time. In other words, do not make your speech too long. Otherwise, you will lose your audience and your speech will seem to ramble. Make sure it is meaningful and relatively short.

Cool! That’s my recipe. If you follow these guidelines, then you will be golden. Even with all of this, I had to get a lot of help and used some high quality resources to help me with all areas of my speech. The best thing of all is to check out as many Maid Of Honor Speech examples as you can to help your speech be what you want to be.

Hi….It’s Madison…I thought one of the best ways to get some Maid Of Honor Speech ideas is to watch someone else give a speech. I took a look at a few and watched this one to help me with my speech.

See how relaxed she is? And take note she had a notecard but spoke naturally. And did not read from the card word for word. You can see she added some humor without making it embarrassing. And she included some heartfelt moments and some childhood memories that made the speech stand out.

Hope this Maid Of Honor Speech Video helps you!

Hi Madison here….

I would like to make this post about tips for creating a funny maid of honor speech. As the maid of honor, you want to create a speech that will be a combination of many things. Your speech should be funny and memorable, heartfelt and lighthearted. But the task of incorporating so many things into the maid of honor wedding speech can seem a little daunting.

When I served as my sister’s maid of honor, I experienced many of the same feelings that you most likely are. I was thrilled to be the one helping her get ready for the ceremony. But I was terrified that I would forget something or my speech would be boring.

I can tell you from experience that the key to creating a perfect toast has nothing to do with the exact wording or the formality of it. Instead, a perfect maid of honor speech has personality, and they have special words, thoughts, or memories specific to the bride and her groom.

When I began writing my speech, I learned from the maid of honor wedding speech examples to include humor. A funny maid of honor speech can be a great way to keep the guests interested and to personalize the speech itself. However, I also wanted to include something heartfelt in the speech too.

I learned that the speech did not have to be funny in its entirety. In fact, these kinds of speeches are best when they include bits of humor mixed in with more serious sentiments.

One very important thing to remember is to be careful of your humor. Obviously, you do not want to say anything embarrassing or offensive for the bride. Keep your humor lighthearted, and keep the embarrassing moments only slightly so. When in doubt, think about how you would feel if someone told the story about yourself.

Remember also to include personal and emotional words as well. If you need guidance for just what to say, consider looking at maid of honor speech ideas. While you will want to create a very personal speech, it never hurts to consult the words of others. You may find that just looking will spring your mind into action and you will find just what to say.

The best speeches combine a little humor, a little advice, and a little emotion. When you create a funny maid of honor speech with the other themes sprinkled in, your toast will be remembered fondly by the bride and groom.

Hi! Madison here…My blog is mostly about giving Maid Of Honor Speech tips. But I thought it would be a great idea to look at this from a Matron Of Honor’s point of view. Why? Because difference is the Matron of Honor is already married and you already have a head start. You can think back to your own wedding and remember what was said.

First tip is Plan your speech! And don’t wait until the last minute. Or nervousness could set it in come wedding day. When it comes to putting your speech together just think about your wedding. Think about the speech that your maid or matron of honor gave then.

I’m sure your special day was most likely a flurry of activity filled with lots of things to do, but surely you can remember some details from the speech. Remember what stood out from the maid of honor speech that meant something to you. Also, think about what you might have rather been said too.

By remembering what meant so much to you, you can tailor your wedding speech to a finer detail. Maybe you can think of funny stories from when your times together, or a touching moment when you told your Maid of Honor that you found that hot hunk of a husband. You might even know the perfect quote that applied to your own wedding that you could use for your speech.

Well, no matter how you decide to create the speech, as the matron of honor, you will be able to say something that has great meaning to the new bride and groom.

If you are like me, you may naturally nervous speaking in front of a big crowd. Just remember that, like a Maid Of Honor Speech, your speech does not have to be stiff and formal. It can be funny or heartwarming, and it definitely should be marked with emotion since it is an emotional moment for the bride and groom. Just let the words come out naturally and speak in your own voice.

Another way to cure nervousness and stress is don’t focus on what you “think” should be said. Just draw from your own personal experiences and memories. When you do this, you will create the perfect speech without even realizing it.

The best tip is to check out some great matron and maid of honor speech examples and tips that will help you put together a great speech. Click here to check’em out.
